Steam Deck has announced a partnership with repair platform iFixit to sell replacement parts for its hotly anticipated device. Steam Deck is a new gaming handheld from US developer Valve Corporation in partnership with AMD.
The versatile device boasts a number of features including a microSD card slot for additional storage, a multi purpose USB-C port for charging, connecting peripherals and screen hook up, plus a 40Wh battery.
With a nod to the ‘Right to Repair’ movement that campaigns for consumer tech vendors to make it easier for consumers to repair their products, the Steam Deck has received a favourable review by iFixit in a recent teardown, scoring 7 out of 10 for repairability.
Steam Deck devices are expected to ship this month and will be available initially in Canada, Europe, US & UK with more markets set to follow soon.
